So sorry to hear of Dale's passing. He was a great guy and of course a good story teller. We met Dale many years ago hunting and he would drop in to our hunting camp most evenings for a chat. We will miss our Monday morning visits at our house. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family.

It is with sad hearts that we learned of the passing of Dale. Both Dale and his Wife Reta were wonderful friends of our family. Dale was my hunting & fishing buddy a good many years. I cherish the time we spent moose hunting last year 2021. Dale was an icon to everybody who knew him. A man who loved the outdoors has went on his journey as we all must do some day. He will be sadly missed. Our sincere condolences to his immediate and extended family. Always loved and remembered by William, Janice and Maria. Rest in Peace.

I had written up a few words to share with Dale but he passed before I got there. My deepest Condolences Joey and family for your tremendous loss. I hope its ok to write here the things I wanted to share with Dale and I hope it in some way it provides a some small comfort.
Dale was my neighbor. You know they say good fences make good neighbors but not with me and Dale. We would stand somewhere in between his property and mine and often say how nice it was that there was no fence and that we'd never build one. We both loved how open and friendly it was. There wasn't a blade of grass he didn't cut for me, a tree he didn't trim or fell, a pile of snow he didn't move. Whenever I was down or feeling cranky he would always remind me that worrying wouldn't get me anywhere and that life was too short for that. I marveled at his garage and how he could fix anything. I would always try to repair stuff myself on the cheap "Red Green" style and couldn't wait to show Dale my latest "creation". We'd have a good laugh and once in a while he'd kindly show me where I went all wrong and tweak it so it was pretty darn close to right. Then some other day he'd call me over, chuffed, to show me something like an ingenious custom modification he made to his fancy side by side/bluff. He'd show up on my doorstep with a trout or partridge all cleaned up for my supper or come to tell me there was a cooler of fiddleheads on his picnic table insisting I take enough for a good feed. Its not an exaggeration to say that time with Dale was almost always the highlight of my day even if it was just a drive by wave and a smile. I was so fortunate to meet him and to become friends. Wish I had gone to see you on Monday instead of spending my lunch thinking about our time together and writing down what wanted to tell you before you had to go. Dale, thanks for all you have done for me. Thanks for your warmth, kindness and uncomplicated wisdom. Thank you for sharing your quiet joy and positivity that has uplifted my mind and heart. I am and will be forever grateful to have had you in my life. You should be proud of yours and of all you have achieved.
Love you Dale

My favourite thing about Dale was how he always talked about having peace of mind and contentment. That’s a beautiful thing to have. <3 I learned alot from him over the years.

I have so many memories of Dale, he was a lifelong friend of my Dad’s, as kids both of our families grew up together. We shared camping trips, bonfires, and lots of laughs. Dale always had a smile and an infectious laugh. He and Dad weathered some storms together, they attended AA meetings together and celebrated milestones. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dale was a trapper too. I gave him a couple of small spring traps to get rid of some damaging furry critters. In his garage I think. I never got to find out if he had any luck.

Hi Kevin, I was very lucky to be his neighbor for 14 years. And he sure did have luck and lots of with it. Many racoons met the fate of that spring trap. Once he caught a mama racoon and her brood all squeezed up in there. He would throw a fish in there sometimes a bait. One day my cat came in from outdoors very smelly and a few days later Dale confessed he had trapped him too. Nothing he couldnt catch! RIP Dale.
