PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY MARCH 19, 2020

York Funeral Home continues to provide quality personalized care to the families we serve in the Fredericton and Miramichi regions. The health and welfare of our customers, their families, our staff and the public is paramount.

Pursuant to the New Brunswick Declaration of a State of Emergency and Mandatory Order, we are effective immediately suspending public visits to our premises and limiting the size of visitations or funerals to a maximum of 10 invited people including funeral and clergy staff.   These measures will be in place until otherwise permitted by the Minister of Public Safety and /or the NB Chief Medical Officer.

At York Funeral Home, we have been evolving our funeral planning services and with the use of our planning technology platform we are confident we can continue to provide timely and caring planning services. With our advanced technology, our staff are available to make all your arrangements “from our home to your home”, remotely,  or on an exception basis by appointment in a face-face setting and abiding by all Public Health “distancing” guidelines.

Please call 506-458-9538 for immediate arrangement services.

As a measure of extra precaution, invited visitors to our premises will be screened as to their current health status and to their recent past travels; for the health of our staff, customers and families we ask those who are ill or showing signs of illness or those who have travelled internationally recently to avoid visiting our establishments.

At this time, we must limit the number of invited visitors to groups of no more than 10 people. Please consider that Postponement of services and gatherings is also an option and our staff would be happy to discuss these and other celebration options with you. For all group gatherings, we will abide by the required public distancing measures and ask our visitors to maintain spacing and to avoid personal contact. We are unable to offer food and beverage catering for our services.

York Funeral Home has been providing our families with quality virtual services. We are equipped to offer families virtual services by using web broadcasting technologies. This option allows our families to extend invitations to those unable to visit in-person or travel any distance.  Again, our staff will be pleased to explore all options with you to provide the best care and service your family deserves.

Our online donation and condolence programs are convenient avenues for friends and families to pay tribute to loved ones. At this time, we will no longer receive donations or allow the public to offer their condolences in person.

I would like to assure you that we take health and safety very seriously at York Funeral Home, in the care of your loved one and of your families and our staff. We continue to follow strict guidelines for sanitization, food and beverage, and social distancing. York Funeral Home prides itself on offering quality, caring service to our families and we pledge to continue to support our families to the best of our abilities in these trying times. We thank the public and our families for helping us to support our communities.

Yours truly,
