Dear members of Fred's family
I was a co worker of Freds at the Daily Gleaner in the classified ad department. He was the go to man to get the ads fonts the way they looked great. He was always so great to work with and was good at his position. I remember him as being funny and kind
Our thoughts are prayers will be with you all

We are so heartbroken over the loss of dear Fred. He was a helpful and kind neighbour, always helping us with whatever we needed as well as keeping us stocked in goodies from his garden...but more importantly he was a wonderful friend. We will always treasure our chats sitting in his garage, his interesting stories and his great laugh. We’ll love and miss you forever Fred.
Love, Trevor, Kim, Sheridan and Madelynn Hamilton

Very Sorry to learn of Fred's passing...He and I had been fellow workers at the Fredericton Gleaner since I arrived in the city from my time at and after the loss by fire of the Carleton Sentinel-Press in Woodstock in 1960...Oddly enough, being more outspoken perhaps than was Fred, we rarely had an argument nor was there any problem between us. I enjoyed my years working with Fred up until we both left the paper in December, 1995. I always enjoyed reminding Fred that he was five (5) months older than I was and a few other things. When 'Stef' came to work as a summer student at the paper I would often tease her or 'get on her nerves' and 'dad' would say...."for God's sake, Don't Get Her Going.' Some things we never forget!
Freddy Haines will certainly be missed...a fine dad, husband, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle and good Friend! I count myself as one. RIP old friend!
Our sincere condolences to all family members.
God Bless
Andy and Jean Martell

We are so very sorry for your loss. Fred was so kind and sharing and had a soft spot for our many fur babies. He always had a story and shared his gifts from his garden. He will be missed. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
