Obituary of Lois Denyce Mehan
With deep sorrow, the family of Lois Denyce (Pachal) Mehan, of Fredericton, wish to announce her passing on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Lois was born on May 9, 1941 in Yorkton, SK, and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alma "Bernice" (Curry) Pachal.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Edward Mehan, and her children, Jim (Jamie) Mehan, John (Jenny) Mehan and Kathy (Mike) Gautreau. She was the proud grandmother of Germain, Luc, Madelaine and Martin Gautreau, MacKenzie, Jacob and Joshua Mehan, Alexander and Katie Mehan, Lexie Mehan, and Abby and Aly Scholten. She was also grateful for her 6 great-grandchildren and all of the “rent-a-kids” over the years. She will be missed by her brothers, Terrence aka Bud (Kathy) Pachal and Stewart Pachal. Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her son, Scott Mehan.
Mom’s family was always her number one priority. While we were young, mom would host the Mehan Camp every summer for all the cousins. As we got older and our families moved away, she would always bring us back together for holiday suppers and later, for mini reunions in PEI.
We are so grateful for Mom’s amazing friends! She has truly lucky to have the support all these years of like-minded and inspiring women. Thank you!
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
In Loving Memory
