MARTIN, ANDREW (ANDY) BROWN

March 25, 1927 - March 4, 2022

Andy made Fredericton his home along with his wife Janet in the early 1950’s, taking up residence on Glengarry place, living there for almost 70 years. Andy began his teaching career at Teachers College on Queen Street moving on to become a professor of Education at UNB until his retirement in the late 1980s. The cottage at Yoho Lake then became his life’s focus as he and Janet lived out their retirement years in peace and tranquility particularly enjoying canoeing and sculling on the lake. Andy also pursued his love of working with wood building several beautiful boats on his own. Andy was active in sports making the Toronto Argonauts for a short stint as a quarterback in 1949 after graduating from Montreal High. He made major contributions to the sports of orienteering and archery in Fredericton, becoming an international referee in the quivered sport. Andy is survived by four of his children; Bruce, Christina, Neil, and Scott along with their spouses and children. Wife Janet and son Keith were predeceased.

In keeping with Andrew’s wishes there will be no visitation or service at this time.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
