Dear Andrea, Chris, Andrew and Jill and families,
Barry and I were so shocked to hear tecently of Duncan's passing...as the last time we had seen him was at your Mom's visitation.
Please accept our deepest condolences.
Duncan was an extraordinary person.
I (Cathie) have known your Dad since he was a little boy.
My family (John & Stella Evans) lived just around the corner on Church St. from your grandparents' home (Chet and Helen) on Charlotte St., so I went out to play with " the big kids" as a little girl.
I remember Janet, Andrea and Helen riding their horses from Robertson's Pt. over to our cottage.
Duncan and Faye were at F.H.S. during my high school years...and I recall vividly that beautiful romance.
Over the years, I've continued to see your parents around Grand Lake....and your Dad sometimes shared his photos.
He was passionate about the movement to save the Gagetown Ferry...and we were at some of the same rallys of support to bring back the ferry!
This past six months has undoubtably been very difficult for all of you.
Please know and remember that many, many people- including ourselves - are continuing to hold you in our thoughts and prayers.
My memories of your father and mother are joyous and happy ones.
I'm attaching a photo from September 2018 taken at the Horse Trials in Lower Jemseg...Barry with Duncan, looking like twins.
With sincere sympathy,
Cathie Evans Weldon and Barry Weldon

Dear Chris, Andrew, Jill and families,
I was so very sorry to learn of the recent passing of your Dad. I have so many special memories of Duncan over the years. At school during our childhood years, at your house on Wright Street, at our cottages at Robertson's Point, at the YMCA and other charity events, and so many locations around Fredericton too numerous to mention. He always was so warm, energetic and positive. I loved my chats with him and your Mom and hearing all about your family updates.
I thought your obituary was beautifully written and captured your Dad perfectly.
I am especially sorry that you have had to deal with the loss of both your parents in such a short time, but as you noted in the Obituary, it's beautiful to know that they are together in Heaven looking down and caring for you all.
I am sure you are all suffering a deep sense of loss at this time but I hope in time that those feelings of sadness are replaced by a sense of gratitude and wonderful memories of the amazing father and husband that Duncan was. He will be deeply missed by the entire community of Fredericton.
You will all remain in my thoughts in the difficult days ahead.

The Nason family is so sorry to hear of Duncan’s passing.
As a kid I remember Dad (Walter) coming home telling mom how he had spoken with “Dunc” at the YMCA on his noon hour. Dad thought highly of Dunc- and when Wally liked someone you knew it.
In 1984 we rented a cottage at Robertson’s point and shortly after built one next to Ed Smith. From then on the Campbells were friends at the Point. Long summers of walks around the point, jogging the road and stopping to talk - You could always count on a smile and conversation with Dunc.
Our best to Chris, Andrew and Jill. See you guys around the point.
Love Paul, Audrey & Roger Nason

Duncan Campbell has been a cornerstone of Robertson Point for his entire life, from his days as a kid on the beach, early years growing up in the beloved Campbell family, to his most formidable years alongside Fay and his own family...calmly and happily watching over all the action at the lake from his cottage's unique vantage point. It was an honor to know him all of my life and enjoy summers at the Point as his neighbor.
Duncan's photography will be one of his many enduring gifts to the Point, surpassed by his boundless friendship (including his duck hunting and fishing bond with my Dad), neighborly helping hand, and youthful, year-round passion for everything and everyone at the Point...except those driving too fast.
Duncan and I share a love of photography -- I have long marveled at his professional, keen eye and the way he captured the purity of the Point and New Brunswick outdoors. He also had a wonderful archive of old photos of the Point dating back to the 1930s. For me, Duncan has been the official historian and photo archivist of the Point.
The MacKay family extends our deepest sympathy to Chris, Andrew, Jill, and the next generation of Campbells who have lost a great Canadian, New Brunswicker, father and grandfather. The towering, timeless pine trees in front of the Campbell cottage will always remind me of Duncan Campbell so in that way he remains at the Point....standing even taller among us.

He always had a big smile on his face and a friendly word and concern for the well being of others. The death of his wife Fay took a lot out of him but he soldiered on. Duncan had a significant hearing disability but he never let that hold him back. Maybe my loud voice made it easy for us to talk back and forth. I always liked his outdoor photos especially those showing his live of fishing and dogs and his family. Duncan will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him. R.I.P. my friend!
