Obituary of Ruth Betty Williams

The passing of Ruth Betty Williams of Zealand, NB, wife of George Williams, occurred on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Oromocto Public Hospital with family by her side.  Born on July 9, 1945 in Botwood, NL, she was the daughter of the late Thurl and Gertie (Peterson) Thompson. 

In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, Michael Williams (Patty), Dorothy White (Lloyd) and Amanda Stairs (Russell); grandchildren, David White (Danielle), James White (Paige), Christopher White (Madison), Robin White, Cecil Williams, Connor Williams, Brandon Stairs and Dylan Stairs; 3 great grandchildren, Raelynn, Jack, Aria; brothers, Wes Thompson (Ida) and David Thompson (Audrey); sister in law, Kay Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Neil Thompson. 

Ruth was an active member of the Fredericton Salvation Army, Ruth enjoyed camping, Sunday drives, and spending time with her family and friends.

There will be no services at this time.  A Private Family Gathering will take place at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
