JONES, IVA ELLEN
The passing of Iva Ellen Jones of Burtts Corner, NB, wife of the late Arville Claremont Jones, occurred on August 2, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 4, 1929 in Burtts Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Annie (Staples) Brewer and Arlus Brewer.
Iva was known for her knowledge of the events and happenings of Burtts Corner and would often be asked questions about the area. She was once active in the Burtts Corner Christian Church, and active in the Ladies Sewing Circle. She made many quilts and was well known for them. She was a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren.
Iva is survived by sons, Lyman Jones (Louise) of Ottawa, Larry Jones, of Fredericton; brother, Merle Brewer (Joan) of Burtt Corner; grandchildren Dylan and Megan, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. the family would ask everyone to wear mask and to follow covid-19 safety measures.
The Private funeral will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, which is invite only. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, Burtts Corner. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick or donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
