Obituary of Douglas Hazen Moore

Douglas Hazen Moore passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2021 at the Oromocto Public Hospital.  Born in Fredericton, NB, on February 22nd, 1936 to the late Kenneth and Bessie Moore (Christie), he is survived by his spouse, Florence (Brown) and his three children, Carolyn (Jody), Ryan (Beth) and Carmen, one grand child, Leah, as well as his brother, Byron (Barbara) and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by four brothers, Earl (Irma), Lewis (Pearl), Garnet (Helen) and Maurice (Joan). Doug worked as a soils technician for the Department of Transportation in Fredericton, New Brunswick and was most proud of his work on the Mactaquac dam.   As a young man, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved to tell stories about his time on the Cain’s river and Bear Brook.  He was an avid follower of local and international news, and enjoyed lively debates on many subjects.  He lived the majority of his life in Penniac, New Brunswick and in his later years, moved to Regiment Creek in Fredericton where he continued to make many friends.  Doug loved to talk and always had time for anyone who wanted to sit (or stand) and chat. His wisdom, sense of humour, quick wit, intelligence and great generosity of spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
