Shirley and Vaughan Leachman and The Store on Gibson Street were fixtures when I was a kid on Henry Street, a block away, and ~60 years ago. Fond memories. Wow.

Remembering Shirley over the years. She was so kind to the kids in our neighborhood and near “Vaughnie’s Store.
Shirley always had a smile and a kind word as we entered - young or old were all greeted the same.
So many times we have mentioned “the store” remembering how good Vaughan and Shirley were to all of us.

So sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. She and Vaughan were fixtures in our lives as neighbourhood kids, always patient as we pick out our bag of penny candy. Remembering with fondness.

It’s said that it takes a village to raise a child.
Shirley and Vaughan were part of my village....... and for all the children of Devon.
I have fond memories of Saturday night card games on Medley Street ( adults only) but Shirley and Vaughan always brought orange pop and treats for we kids.
Just yesterday, my mother( 94) expressed that she would like for me to try my best to make a visit with Shirley happen. Sadly, this will never take place.
Thanks Shirley for allowing me to “ help” deliver groceries with Beeb and Bill. Sitting in the back of that big blue station wagon with all those boxes of groceries was the thrill of a lifetime.
With our sincerest sympathy to your family,
Jet, Paula,John, Mike and Dan Reynolds

Shirley and Vaughn were almost like second parents to me as I saw them almost everyday as a child in the store on Gibson St. She was always so kind to me and even gave me free bubblegum at times !
I send my sincere condolences to Shirley's family - she certainly had "good innings" as they say.
