It is a year late but just came across Mike’s obituary…we were Shipmates on the SS Gypsum Duchess for almost a year and good friends for years later working with Balder Offshore in the eighties, always kept in touch until probably late nineties…any case so very sorry to know Mike’s gone…a fabulous guy…one of the best, we had so much fun on those Gypsum Boats, I was 21 years old 3rd Mate and Mike was 31 years old 2nd Mate…one memorable time was on dry dock in Savannah Georgia, we ate many Oysters and had a few Beers at the ‘Bullfrog’ Springs Oyster Bar most nights for the 3 weeks we were there…spent Christmas 78 off coast of Florida North bound to Hantsport…Just had to write a note and give my Condolences to Mike’s family….RIP old Buddy, I’ll read the Dune Trilogy again in your memory, Kindest regards G Keith Williams
