Obituary of Claude Cyr

The passing of Claude Rene Cyr of Fredericton, NB, husband of Elsie Joyce (Burlock) Cyr, occurred on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Veteran’s Health Unit.  Born on December 24, 1935 in St. Leonard, NB, he was the son of the late Rene and Annette (LaPointe) Cyr.  Claude retired from the New Brunswick Department of Motor Vehicles.  He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. Claude has been an avid volunteer since 1962.

In addition to his wife, Claude is survived by his daughters, Lori Cyr of Vancouver, BC and Sherry Cyr of Harts Lake Road, Gagetown, NB; sisters, Renette Reinhardt (Joseph) of Auburn, ME and Geraldine Cyr of Grand Digue, NB; brother, Roderic Cyr (Leoline) of Shediac Bridge, NB; sister in law, Rachelle Cyr of Shediac Bridge, NB; several nieces, nephews and two great nephews.  In addition to his parents, Cyr was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Cyr.

There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.  The Graveside Service will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis or St. Thomas University-Vance Toner Memorial Bursary.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
