I am so sorry to hear of Alex's passing. He was a great supporter of the work of Rooftops Canada - Abri International's international housing program which we carry out on behalf of social and co-op housing organizations in Canada. I had the great pleasure of meeting Alex in his role as ED of NBNPHA, and greatly appreciated his commitment, concern, knowledge and his very warm and welcoming manner. On behalf of Rooftops Canada, condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. - Barry Pinsjy, ED

Dear Anne Marie and family,
I'm sorry to hear of Alex's passing. I had the honour of serving with him on the CHRA Board, and he was so warm and welcoming, with a wonderful can-do approach and an infectious sense of humour. He was such a proud New Brunswicker, too, and promoted the innovative work happening in NB to provide affordable housing. Thanks to Alex, there are so many today who have a place to call home. He will be greatly missed, and always loved.

To all surviving members of Alexis' family:
Alexis was my Grade 9 home room teacher as well as my French teacher for the 1955-56 school year. I appreciated finally having a person whose first language was French to teach us French, an opinion that was not shared by many (perhaps most) of his students. I was happy to learn of his successful post-teaching career. I extend heartfelt sympathies to his surviving family members and trust that God will comfort all of you during a difficult period. Dear Anne-Marie:
I was so sorry to hear of Alex's passing. I remember you both from your visits to Estey's Store in Millville, back in the '80s, where we shared a laugh or two. I particularly remember visits from Alex & Bob (MacDonald?), who reminded me of a couple of characters from the old M.A..S.H. show. Alex was such a nice man and I know he will be missed. I am sorry for your loss and I send my condolences to you and the rest of the family. Sincerely, Carolyn (Estey) Patterson

AnneMarie and Family;
Sorry to learn of your husbands passing. Great memories of you when you lived up the "other" hill. We miss seeing you at the Co-Op and other venues. I'm not forgetting our shopping trip to Maine and coming back with a load of Fisher Price toys for our kids. Thankfully, the border officer was in good spirits that day lol. Wish you would stop in for coffee some day soon.

It was a sad day for all of us that knew Alex, to hear that he had passed away. I have so many memories growing up with the Arseneau family...one in particular that I will never forget...all the families were camping and I noticed that Alex had one sandal with a heel thicker than the other, I asked him about it and he said it was because when he took off his sandals he would always slide that particular one off first and over the years it had worn down a lot. He was always so funny and quick witted. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Dear Anne Marie, Ray, Sylvie, Denis, Rachelle, spouses and family, Although it has been many years since our families got together I have many fond memories that I hold dear. Gatherings with family ski trips, our family cottage on Grand Lake, and such were always sure to bring lots of joy and laughter and a bond I cherished until sadly, our own busy lives got in the way. I not only knew Alex to be kind, fun loving with a generous spirit, he could also make one laugh with his wit and charm. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him, especially the Legere Family! Many of whom would have gladly attended his living celebration had it not been for the restrictions... My sincere Condolences. Denise.

Alex will always be a part of our earliest and best childhood memories. He and Anne-Marie made us feel so welcome in our "second home". Even as children we recognized Alex was a dedicated family man who put his loved ones first. In later years, we realized Alex was "ahead of his time". He helped with the cooking and cleaning when needed and even knit the most beautiful sweaters! We appreciate how Alex remained a true and loyal friend to our dad throughout the years and so did our dad!
Sincerely,

Dear Anne-Marie and Family, I wish to offer my deepest condolences to you. I did not spend much time with Alex, but in the brief time I did spend, it was obvious he had a respect for life and Joie de Vivre, as well was a very generous and caring person. I am not surprised of all his accomplishments in life as I read his obituary. I believe he was a blessing in everyone’s life who crossed path with him, as well to many who did not get the opportunity to meet him. I was very blessed to be one of a significant group of people who was gifted of one of his beautiful work of knitting. I will continue to wear the beautiful sweater he knitted for me two years ago with Pride! My thoughts and prayers are with you. May your wonderful Memories in your heart help support you during this trying chapter of life. RIP Alex!
