I just heard the news about Roy’s passing and I’m so sorry. I worked with Roy at the university as I was beginning my career and he was winding down his time at UNB. Roy was funny and generous with his time while I was learning the ropes.
Back then, Roy regularly announced that he wasn’t planning to retire, exactly, but was getting ready to embark on a new stint as a Walmart greeter. He said he couldn’t imagine a more fun way to pass the time than just being friendly. While his plans morphed into working at ANBL instead, it was always a treat to catch up when I’d bump into him at the Superstore, and later York Street, locations.
My condolences to his family.

Condolences to Roy’s family . He shared help and wisdom within the life and work of Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian church in Fredericton. He served on Session and Board, as well as several committees. His love of music and involvement with the choir was greatly appreciated. His love and memory of his homeland was evident. Above all he spoke lovingly of his family. May God’s blessing be yours in the years to come. Roy made a difference.

We were shocked when we found out. Our deepest condolences to all of you. We met many years ago when he was selling his yummy croquets on the market where we also met his lovely wife. Sometimes we would see each other at the restaurant and we had always a great time and good conversations. He will be greatly missed by many. Have some wine with my parents when you see them and tell them we miss them too. Love and hugs Beate, Uwe and Florian Kuester

My sympathies to Roy family and friends. Roy was such a gentleman, we enjoyed having him as a volunteers for many years at the DECH hospital on 3 NE. He volunteered many hours with our rehabilitation and geriatric patients.
Thank you Roy for your dedication to helping many of us in the past years.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Roy. He was a unique guy and I have great memories of our time together in the Lower Deck. I have referred to Roy many times as a man of integrity who did things by the book. It was a long time ago but I remember him as if it was yesterday.

We were so sorry to learn of Roy’s passing. We spent many years together at UNB, where he wore so many hats than it is hard to remember them all. And in later years we did meet him from time to time during his work at NB Liquor. We especially remember him as a fervent student of genealogy -- and his wonderful singing voice. But whatever and wherever the connection he could always leave you smiling. His own life was not always easy, but he made ours better.

When I first started working at UNB Roy was an invaluable guide to how the University world worked. He was always friendly and buoyed others with his presence. It has been awhile since we last spoke but he will always hold a special place in my memories as someone who could make any dark day look better.

I am very saddened to hear of Roy's passing. I met him many years ago when I was doing genealogy on my family from Germany. Roy was such a great help to me, no matter what the question, Roy was always available to help. After his retirement from UNB, I would run into him from time to time at his next job. Thank you Roy for helping out a friend in need. Such a kind and gentle soul. My deepest condolences to the entire Brostowski family.
