The passing of James Craig Fraser of Fredericton, NB, husband of Joanne (DeWolfe) Fraser, occurred on August 14, 2020 at York Care Centre.  Born on May 9, 1937 in Nashwaak Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Peter and Norma (Stewart) Fraser. Jim had a long and distinguished career as a Civil Engineer for New Brunswick Department of Transportation for over 30 years. Jim’s work passion was bridge design and construction.  He was a member of the Fredericton Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and woodworking. 

 

Besides Jim’s wife Joanne, he is survived by his daughter Kelly Fraser; step-daughter Karen Hume; step grandchildren Shane Hollinshead (Mandy); step great grandchildren Cadence and James Hollinshead; several nieces and nephews; several cousins, including Harriett McNeill, Hazen Stewart (Francis) and Rose-Mary Stewart. Jim was predeceased by his first wife Shirley (Graham) Fraser; daughter Karen Komulainen and cousin Glen Stewart.

 

A graveside service will be held in the Douglas Rural Cemetery on Friday August 21, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Family requests masks must be worn to protect the health of others due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, Fredericton SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
