Mike, we are just now hearing of Les’s passing. We are so sorry and saddened. Les was such a wonderful man. We couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor. Les was always there to lend a hand and offer help without ever expecting anything in return. I can’t count the times he plowed our driveway and wouldn’t take a dime. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Love Andrew, Casey, Brady and Daniel O’Hara

My sincere condolences to Mike, Pearl and all the Sears family. I was saddened to hear Leslie had passed away. I miss Pearl and Les, they were great neighbors when they lived in Durham. Peter and Les became friends spending lots of hours outdoors working in the yard and a few four wheeler drives in the woods, then "Tea Time" in the carport before supper. I miss their visits when they would pop in while out for a drive from town.
Sincerely, Pat Sutherland

Pearl and Mike, we were so heartbroken to hear of Les' passing. Les and Pearl were our much loved neighbours for several years in Durham Bridge . Our two households and the new neighbours (Les and Pearl) became fast, and what turned out to be cherished friends. Our two boys more or less adopted Les and Pearl as a third set of Grand Parents. (our boys could not have made a better choice). Always ready to lend a hand , Les would often help our two families with lawn mowing ( there was lots) , tractor repair, problems with the well and almost anything around the house. As giving as these helpful acts of kindness were , they still paled in comparison to the true heart and loving character that Les and Pearl extended to our families over the years. We have a couple of wooden toys made by Les . They will be with us always, as a loving reminder of his kind and giving nature. We will always be thankful for the special time in our lives when we were so fortunate to have Les and Pearl as our neighbors .Pearl ,Mike and the entire family, please accept our deepest sympathies .

I am so sorry to hear of Les' passing. I worked beside Les for many years in the court system when he was a court sergeant with the city police and later as court constable for Department of Justice. We shared many laughs and good times together on some memorable trials. I also benefited from his woodworking talent of which a couple shelves are displayed in my home yet today. After he retired I would run into him now and again in the city and we'd always share a few cherished memories about court work. He treated me well when we worked together, always looking out for me and ensuring I had whatever I needed work-wise. He was a wonderful man and I send my deepest sympathy on his passing to Pearl and Mike.
