I first met Donnie through my husband Perley and I realized real quick what a character he was. Perley and I often visited Vi and Donnie in the later years. Donnie was a fine man. God bless and be with the family. Valerie Palmer

I grew up on Pine Street and have a lot of memories of spending time at the Taylor house (garage) with Peter and neighborhood friends. It was a gathering spot for us kids, which says a lot about the people that Donnie and Vi were. I remember him constantly teasing us kids but always taking time to talk to us.
Peter, and family, my sincere condolences. Your dad will be greatly missed. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Violet and family - so sorry to hear of his passing. My father first knew Donnie when they worked at Thistle Dairies together. So when he went on to work with the Fredericton Fire Department, my father used to tease him that he was the fire department's first and only left handed fireman and therefore would need to have all of his own equipment because he did everything with the opposite hand. I first met Donny in the spring of 1975, which I won’t go into detail about the circumstances which we met, only to say that Donny sorta took me under his wing. Shortly after that meeting, I was assigned to work at Sta#2, where most of the older guys worked, and it so happens that it was Donny’s shift. He was working with Houlie Smith, Russell McLaughlin, and I think Eldon Barnett ( Rev). Talk about a schoolin I got in the works of the fire department. Oh Yeah,
I gotta say, it was one of the few times that I couldn’t wait to get back to work, it was the comraderie of the rest of the guys!
I learned pretty quick that if Donny was talkin in a serious way, I otta take note! I also learned that if he was in a tantalizing mood, I and everyone else otta take note !
When I started to build my house, Donny was there, him and Lew Parsons ( they both knew I had no idea what I was doing )
ALL the older guys were great, but Donny ( Tuffy ) was Thee Top Shelf guy!
I could go on here for hours, and still end up saying the same thing,Donny was the Best, bar none!

I was incredibly saddened to hear of Donnys passing. I have many fond memories of him when I was younger. Life on my grandparents farm was such a blessing, and that included Donny and his incessant teasing. Gramps (Ron) use to joke that Donnie would sit on the porch and wait for me to turn the corner. Within a few minutes he’d be driving up the hill in his truck smoking his pipe and a grin on his face. I still fondly remember our conversations and his stories, along with the constant reminder my horse was saved from the glue truck (haha). His memory is included with many fond ones of the farm and growing up there. Praying for peace for you all during this time, Rachel (Neill) MacQueen

We are so sorry to learn of the passing of Donald Taylor. We worked together side by side on many huge fires in our working days with the Fredericton Fire Department. A great man on the fire ground, he had a way with fire fighters to keep us calm and do the job that was required from us. I am thankful in having the opportunity to work side by side with Donnie and learned from his experience. Rest in peace my friend. Always remembered. William & Janice Brewer

Very sorry for your loss, always enjoyed his sense of humor and friendliness as part of the gang at Neill's farm and at the Frex. I don't think Ronnie and Albert could have managed the farm without him.

We were blessed to have been neighbours with Don & Vi for 15 years and they were the best neighbours a person could have ever asked for , Vi with her sweetness and Don with his relentless tormenting, lol . They were the kindest of people . They are now together once again and I’m sure happy to be .RiP Don , your smile will be missed by many .
