Leota was a dear friend of mine for many years. She was a remarkable lady and so easy to work with at the Stanley Library. My condolences to Kathy, Sandy and all her family. I will have her name placed on the memory tree at Taymouth United Church this coming December. Know I will be thinking of you all. Love Ruth.

Leota was such a part of our youth growing up in Stanley. She treated each of us as her own. Many times spent at the library were not about books but rather just to talk to her. She will be remembered fondly. We are thinking of her entire family and will keep you close in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. RIP Leota.

I was very sorry to hear that Leota passed away. You were so good to her Sandy and I will miss our great talks in the salon that we had. What a talented lady. It was a treat to hear her telling me what her currant project was. She will be missed by all. Love Kathy Smith.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Stanley Community Library, and for myself personally, I send to all the family our deepest sympathy in the loss of Leota. I was delighted to see a public library opening in Stanley not long after I moved here, and your mother did a wonderful job serving the public for many years as our first librarian. She was a lovely person, and I know you will all miss her.
Sincerely,
Sandra MacBean

Sandy, Kathy and Lonnie,
We're sorry to hear of Leota's death and want to express our deepest sympathy. She was always a friendly face at the Stanley library. A couple of years ago, we had a good chat about her father's time serving in World War I, and she gave me a photo for the display we had at the Stanley Fair. Sandy, she seemed very happy with making her home with you. Remember the good times.
