Met Corey a few times across the street at Rena's (my sister in law) He was the neighbour and Dad everyone wants to have. His love for Tristan was so evident. What a father. One of those peope you meet and want to have for a friend forever. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Plase surround Tristan with memories of his wonderful Dad. Edith Irving

My sincere condolences to all the family. Corey was my neighbour since he moved to Lilac Crescent. He made the neighbourhood come alive! Not long after moving in, he knew all the neighbours and included us all in his gatherings. He always had a smile and a hug and a beverage to offer.
Corey took pride in his home and each year he added more comforts to his back yard... it was an oasis which he shared generously with his friends and family. When Tristan arrived, the backyard included everything a little boy could imagine and each addition was planned and constructed with the excitement of his own anticipation. It was wonderful!
He loved his family above all! Betty and Gus, and his brother and 5 sisters.... he loved having everyone to visit and invited all the neighbours to join in! Laura and Tristin were his treasures.
Laura, I have no words ... knowing how deeply you loved Corey... my heart breaks for you. I recall how happy you were together when you both came over to surprise me last summer with breakfast. That's the memory I will cherish.
Not that long ago we all met for Corey's Departure with Dignity ceremony. I will treasure how happy an occasion that was for us all!
Corey was the most charismatic person I ever had the pleasure of knowing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all today. I had hoped to attend but old man Winter is behaving badly today here in Nova Scotia with plenty of snow!

Condolences to Corey’s entire family during this difficult time. I had the privilege of growing up with Corey in a small town and briefly worked together before he began his amazing journey on serving this country. We hadn’t seen each other much over the last few years as life steers you in different directions but when we did see each other it was a big smile, then a hug followed usually by a beverage to catch up. I will personally raise a glass to you tonight and until we meet again.

Corey was a steadfast friend, great soldier and widely regarded as a strong leader and true canadian hero. Despite rarely seeing each other since our initial trainong, whenever we did connect it was like time had not passed. A truly good person who always had a big smile, bigger heart and open door. My sincerest condolences to all.

Corey and I met at cadet camp argonaut when we were 13 and we continued to stay in touch during our teenage years. Wish we had to stay in touch, but life forces people down different paths. Since his passing I learned that one of my closest friends who also served in Afganistan, worked directly with Corey. When I mentioned Corey's passing to him his response was, that's tragic, the dudes a Legend.
Does not matter how much time passes you always remember your closest friendships. I never got to meet any of Corey's family but my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Until we meet again brother
