Obituary of Bertie Hossack

The passing of Bertie Clarkson Hossack, husband of the late Ada (Scott) Hossack, of Royal Road, NB, occurred on January 29, 2012 at Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home, Stanley, NB. Born on May 12, 1922 in Williamsburg, NB, he was a son of the late James and Caroline (Clarkson) Hossack. Bertie worked as a woodsman and knife filer, he also worked for Deersdale Irving Saw Mill. He was affiliated with both the St. Paul’s Anglican Church and Williamsburg Anglican Church. Bertie enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching TV, talking with people and loved working in the woods. Bertie is survived by his daughters, Helen (Gregory) Banks of Royal Road, NB, Margaret E. (Tom) Erickson of Sussex, NB, Patty (Jeff) Zucker of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Tammy (Marc) Mullin, Shannon (Russell) Banks, Peter Banks, Anne Connors, Martin (Line) Connor, Angie (Darrin) Carmichael and Christopher Erickson; great grandchildren, Jordan Mullin, Gabriel Mullin, Emery Coffelt, Emma Carmichael, Daniel Carmichael, Joshua Wilton, Taylor Wilton and Matthew Wilton, Nicholas Connor; sister, Pearl Boyce; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Sadie Fullarton, Estella Bennett, Jennie Logan and Hilda Dorcas; brothers, James and Raymond Hossack. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanley, NB on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Wendy Amos Binks officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Hughie Fullerton, Harold Boyce, Ronald Brownridge, Donald Logan, Mark Foreman and Glen Stairs. Interment will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Stanley, NB at a later date. A special thank you, to the nurses and staff of the Nashwaak Villa for their care and compassion, over the past months.
