Obituary of Genavieve McKnight

The passing of Genavieve Agnes McKnight of Fredericton, wife of Hugh McKnight, occurred on Saturday March 30, 2019 at York Care Center. Born in Bath NB, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Annie (Hatheway) Lloyd. Genavieve worked for the Province of New Brunswick in the Treasury and Forestry Departments and then with the Salvation Army Family Services. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and spending time with her family. Gen was a Co-Captain of Best Years Fellowship, Treasurer of Women's Missionary Group, Co-Director of the Junior Boys Camp and helped with College and Careers. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Troy McKnight (Teresa) of Kelowna BC; daughter Joy Porter (Kevin) of Hanwell NB; brothers, Hayden "Dick" Lloyd (Mavis) of Maugerville NB, Glen Lloyd of Bath NB, Carvell Lloyd (Nell) of Florida; sister, Reverta Wagg of ON; grandchildren, Tyler and Ethan Porter, Liam, Zoe and Billie McKnight; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Tuesday April 2, 2019 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Journey Wesleyan Church on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place in the Dayton Cemetery at a later date.
