Obituary of Paul Yerxa

The passing of Paul Ashley Yerxa, of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of the late Gale (Brewer) Yerxa, occurred on March 21, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 15, 1945 in Keswick, NB, he was a son of the late Ashley and Helen (White) Yerxa. Paul was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and four wheeling, and spending time at his camp. Paul is survived by his daughters, Laurie Morehouse and Amy Yerxa (Geoff); son, Mark Yerxa; grandchildren, Megan, Mikayla and Ethan; chosen son, Jamie Burtt (Joanne) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Garry Yerxa. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Pallbearers are Jamie Burtt, Mitchell Brewer, Edwin Yerxa, Paul Vincent, Ralph Jones and Jim Dunphy. Interment to take place in Zealand Community Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Dad’s care givers, Jodi Brewer, Shelley Carr, and neighbours Eddie and Doreena Gill, Adrian MacFarlane and Connie Billings. For all they have done for our Dad over the years. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
