I’ve known Peter since 1992. I use to work for money’s worth and best in Kings place and the Fredericton mall. When Peter bought moneys worth and best I was away for a while and Peter didn’t really know me at the time, but when I talked to him in 1992 and got to know him, he hired me and we both worked together. Later I left and went to Alberta for my career in engineering. I would come back and have a coffee at his new sole man shop in Kings place. We have lost touch over the years and was I sad to hear about his passing. It’s already 2022 and I just did a search to find this out. I’m hear in Fredericton now and wanted to re connect with Peter but its too late. RIP your friend and colleague Kerry MacDonald

I have only this week learned of Peter's passing, after enquiring as to why his shop was no longer open. I am so terribly sorry to hear of this. I, like so many others, loved to pop in and have a bit of a chat (about music), or just a quick wave 'hello' if passing by. He was a good lad and I appreciated knowing him. I will both miss and remember him. I am truly saddened by his departure from this life, and I send my condolences on your loss.

I met Peter in 1991 at Kingsplace. Over the years we became friends. I brought him coffee when he would serve me. He was a very good man.
It is a very sad time and you are all in my thoughts. Try to this one by day, or hour by the hour. I offer you my deepest sympathy.

To The Duffy Family:
My sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Peter. He was such a fine gentleman, and I will miss dropping in his shop or exchanging a wave and a hello. Just happen today to be wearing the boots he worked on this fall and then learned of this sad news.
Hugs and prayers.

I was saddened when I heard the Soleman passed away. I always enjoyed our conversations when I visited him at his shop.
And when I found out Peter's son was Patrick, a former student of mine and a fine young man in his own right it even hurt more.
God Bless you and your family Patrick
Rest in Peace Peter

Sorry to hear of your loss. Peter and I worked together back in the early 80s in Saint John. Life happens and we lost touch, as so often happens but I remember him fondly and that he always had a smile and a listening ear for everyone. Another of our co-workers from that time shared this sad news with me and just wanted to offer my condolences.

I genuinely regret your loss. I hope that in due time your family receives Gods peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 which reads: Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. He promised that in the Paradise, we will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all problems, accidents, and sickness. Even our dead loved ones like Peter will be resurrected. (Psalm 37:9, 29; John 5:28, 29) With all my sympathy for the loss of someone so dear.

We were so sorry to hear you lost Peter. Bill went in to speak to him every time he was in Kings Place. He always had a joke to crack, or something irreverent to say! I just had a watch battery replaced and he was same as usual. A huge loss for the community. Please accept our condolences.

To the family of Peter I offer my deepest sympathy. With profound shock, I read his obituary. I had been planning to go in Monday with a zipper problem only he could fix. For many years, he was a magnet in Kings Place- his shop a place that attracted people, not only for his excellence in repair, but also for his good humour and conversation. I plan to have a Mass said for Peter at St. Dunstan's.
RIP Peter

If ever there were an advocate for the career of 'shoe cobbler' it was you, Peter ... the 'Shoe Cobbler'. The many toddlers [who are now nine / ten years of age] who daily strolled into your 'shoe cobbler' shop, stood on your bench and peered over your counter with their many queries, you leave a legacy of wondering for them. Jack, Kaden, Grace Elizabeth, Alex, Pearl, Evelyn and their Bubba ... All things bright and beautiful, the Lord God made them all ... Shalom

We were so sad to read of Peter's passing in the paper today. When our daughter Sarah was about two, she discovered Peter in Kings Place. She called him Mr. Shoemaker. No visit to Kings Place was complete without a visit to Mr. Shoemaker. He was always so kind to her. We continued to stop for a visit when in Kings Place. I was in on last Wednesday, but he was with a customer and I didn't stop to say "Hello" I wish I had. We are sending our deepest condolences to your family. Peter will be missed!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Peter's passing! I knew him for many years when I was working at Scotia bank and also through his business. We always had some great chats and laughs. Such a friendly nice man! My condolences to all of Peter's family at this very sad time.

Lily & family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Peter over the past few years on some hunting excursions with my brother Jeff.We had some successful hunts, but it was more about getting together, spending time, and sharing/telling stories from the past. Peter had a story for every topic. My fondest memory was when Peter, Jeff, and I stood at the bottom of a clear cut looking up and wondering...how the heck are we going to get our moose roadside. LOL. Another memory Jeff and I will cherish. Peter you will be missed.
