Cynthia and Family,
This is a late note to express my sympathy and to share my memories of your mom and her travels since much of it was with Allingham/Maritime Travel. What a gal !! There were times even as a travel agent I wanted to be her 'aide de camp" so as to go on her adventures. She was always smiling. She truly was a gift to those around her. Hugs and Sincere sympathy, Brenda Johnston Sansom

Mrs.Urquhart was an inspiration to so many. She captivated us all with her masterful storytelling. I could hardly wait to go to class to hear what she would say next! She made you slip away to these destinations far and wide, you could visualize what it must have been like actually being there. Her slides and many souvenirs wove a spell around us that only her enthusiasm could bring to life. She was not just an educator, she was truly a moulder of minds. She certainly left her mark on the world through each student who was blessed to have her. I am now grown with a family of my own. One of my sons has a love of history and ancient civilizations, before he was even old enough to read. I think that was spilled over and encouraged from a sweet little woman who imprinted herself on so many hearts.

Phyllis was one of the most gifted teachers I have ever known. As a young teacher Phyllis was a powerful mentor for me. She was supportive, encouraging, and most of all extremely kind. She was every students favourite teacher. Her social studies classes were legendary. Phyllis was able to share with her students her love of travel and her wide knowledge of the world beyond Fredericton. Her energetic spirit was contagious and I learned so much from her. I think I speak on behalf of many students and teachers who were influenced and guided by Phyllis's high standards and professionalism. She was the consummate educator and one of the nicest persons I've ever known.

Aunt Phyllis leaves a rich legacy in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her positive energy, thirst for knowledge and love of travel was (and still is) an inspiration to me. She was a person of immense substance and style, and although her journey in life has ended, her spark and courage to live a life full of wonder and purpose, continues to live on in the many lives she touched.

I am sure that I will be only one of many former students who share a deep fondness for Mrs. Urquhart. She was a wonderful teacher. I had her in Grade 8 and to this day smile when I think of her energy, enthusiasm and love of learning that was imparted to her students. I saw her many years later and had a lovely talk about the Memorial School days. My deepest sympathy to the family.

She was the best teacher I ever had and was also the first person to whom I would turn with other concerns in my young life. She imparted so much more knowledge than the curriculum. I still have my grade nine social studies binder: she had us make our own textbook, and the assignments were incredibly interesting, like covering the coronation of Charlemagne like a modern day television reporter. My deepest condolences to her family, but know she made a difference in thousands of lives,

Please accept our deepest of sympathies to your entire family.
It was an honour and privilege to know Phyllis. She and I spoke a lot of university, her travel, and her family.
I will miss the tales she and my mom shared at the back table in Brunswick Hall or her wave as she cruised by my mom (Donna's) room.
Much love to you and your family during this time.
Annemieke (Donna's youngest daughter)
