Ah Man! My condolences to Mr. Riley, Rick, Colleen and Mike's immediate family who I never had opportunity to meet. Mike was a fixture in my life growing up in Moncton just a few houses from the Riley's. He certainly didn't treat me any different although he was 2 years older than me which was a rarity in those days. Mike was the most motivated individual I knew at the time. While the rest of us were aimlessly going through life Mike had a plan and worked hard and fast to accomplish his goals. He was a great guy and I wish I was better at keeping in touch. Yahoo Mike Riley!

Dear Cousin Colleen, Uncle Bus, Jeff & Nicole;
My heart goes out to you folks on the sudden death of Mike. Moments like this remind me how we must not take anything or anyone for granted. With that huge smile and one of the worlds best laughs I believe Mike took little for granted. I hope he is looking down on us with a chuckle and finding peace. God Bless,

I had the privilege and pleasure to be a teammate of Mike on the F'ton Exiles in the mid 80's. Monkey was a great guy with a seemingly permanent happy disposition and infectious smile who helped many an Exile and others in their careers. I was surprised and saddened to learn of Mike's early passing. It was much too soon for someone who lived life so large. My deepest sympathies to Mike's family. May your many warm memories of Mike comfort you at this difficult time.

Our sincere condolences to the family and Nicole. Mike will be greatly missed. Mike remained the same person since I first met him 28 years ago: honest, the most energetic businessman that I have worked with, a loyal colleague and a good friend. Mike was always positive and he always managed to find opportunities. Mike always saw the glass half full.
I have two reasons that I now watch rugby: 1) Mike Riley, and 2) I live in Wales. Rugby will not be the same anymore for me, knowing that Mike will not be commenting the game somewhere or in the same stadium over a Guinness.

We are so sorry to learn of Mike's passing. We will remember Mike as a wonderful and kind man. He loved his family and friends so dearly. He laughed that great laugh, so easily - was always up for a good time! We hold many fond memories of Mike - from his visit out West in 2008. And being lucky enough to be a part of the family tour of Ireland alongside him. These memories and laughs we will forever hold close to our hearts.
Rest In Peace Mike.

Mike helped teach me and my brother about rugby along with Dick and the rest of the Exiles, I was 15 and he was so unbelievably real and nice and supportive with such a newbie to rugby. Now I coach still and am teaching my son. Such a smile and a positive person for rugby, for life. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

Mike,
You hired me out of UNB in 1996 for my first ever engineering job. You were my first and most impactful mentor. I am a better engineer, writer and consultant because of the hard lessons you taught me. I will never forget the many, many, many revisions and edits that you took the time to provide to me to make me a better practitioner. It was you that signed my professional practice entrance and you that gave me the opportunity to start my career. Your very firm guidance was difficult to appreciate at the time, but 20 years on, they are very much appreciated. These are things that I should have said to you in person .... I wish I had.
You taught me to work hard ... but to play just as hard ... play on Mike .... and know that you are missed.
