My name is Anne (Drake) Wilson.
To Sue’s family I wish to express my deepest condolences.
Sue is pictured here in the Anne (Murdo) Mcdonald home on Chestnut street in New Westminster. On the right is Val Forshaw, Alisen Earle, Sue, myself Anne D-W and Anne Mcdonald. We are just passing the ‘time’ as we were often found to do. We would have been in FW Howay elementary school, just before Sue and her family left for the east.
Sue would come out home to New West and as often as I could would meet up with her at her Aunty Molly’s home on Rickman Place. I recall, on one of her earlier visits, that she attended Woodstock. I thought what a brave girl. Lucky her.
I am moving to Nova Scotia as my son has bought a lovely home on the Atlantic Ocean on Shore Road in Eastern Passage. I want to be closer to him and Janet and their furry friends.
I often found Sue on my mind and of course New Westminster being a very small population (crazy about their heritage) I was totally saddened to find Sue had passed away. She is missed.
Please know you are in my thoughts and perhaps we can meet some day. I’m certain I have more photos to share.
Love you Sue.

Garth and I had the pleasure of meeting Sue at Katie and Ethans wedding. We knew we would have lots in common. Sue and I were nurses, who had a set of twins, and larger than usual families. She was warm and friendly and very comfortable to be with. I could tell we could share a glass of wine and laughs and enjoy each others company in the years to come. Unfortunately her life was cut short. She was so proud of Ethan at his marriage and totally embraced Katie, as her new daughter-in-law. She gave Garth and I a "New Brunswick" gift, and I think of her whenever we use it. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family.

I had the pleasure of meeting both your Mom and Dad when I was the Facilitator of the Brain Tumour Support Group here in Fredericton. They both were wonderful people and their positive spirit filled a room. When I think of your Mom I will remember her smile and her calmness and how she had a way of always making you feel good after speaking with her. She will be greatly missed by myself and so many. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.

Josh, Annie, Ethan, Martha,
And families,
We are so sorry for your loss. May the happy memories of your mother get you through this tragic and sad time. We are so happy to have shared a wonderful thanksgiving day dinner and glass or two of wine with Sue. We really enjoyed her apple pie so I hope Leah can get her recipe. Sadly, we only knew Sue for a short time but it was very easy to see that She was a wonderful person. We can still hear her laugh and will remember the funny story that she told us that day.
May god bless you all and give you the strength to get through this difficult time.
((Hugs)). Eileen and Dan

I am so sorry for your loss... I first met Sue & Rick at a new years eve gig in the early 1990s in Toronto where Rob was playing in the band. I introduced myself then told them that Janet was to be their sister-in-law! After Ricks death, Sue joined Rob, Janet and I for a weeks vacation in Cancun; she came down again a year later. I have many fond memories of her down at the beach bargaining for gifts to bring home to her family & laughing on the balcony. I lift a glass of wine in celebration of a life well lived although she left too soon. My thoughts are with you. Polly

My thoughts & prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. I am deeply saddened to hear of this news. Throughout the years, I got to know the sweet and wonderful Sue. In addition to being friends with Annie, I had the pleasure of having her in my aquafit class regularly, and it was always a delight to see her beautiful smile and hear her infectious laugh. Ive always believed those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. May her spirit live on in the kindness she had shared and the love she brought into everyones lives. Last night I dedicated my aquafit class to you, Sue. My you rest in peace.

Annie, Josh, Ethan and Martha, Heather, John, Rob and Jane; Rick and Sue were special, wonderful people. We all grew up together on 48th Ave in Lachine and kept in touch through 50+ years! I still remember the day Sue showed up as a new student at our classroom door at Summerlea Elementary School in Lachine (Rick was in the same class, and was likely smitten that very day, for good reason) Sue was my friend from that day on, regardless of time or distance, and a wonderful friend always. Im sure she is at peace, but its awful for those of us left behind. Sue and Rick loved you all so much and were so proud of their children. With love, Janet

My sincere condolences to the family, for your loss.
I met Sue,first through my sister, Judy, and then I was so delighted when she was the VON nurse assigned to assess my father-in-law last year. She always had a willing smile and a natural warmth that made it so easy to talk with her. I will miss her presence on those occasions when our paths might otherwise cross.

Sues radiant smile drew me to her picture in todays Globe and Mail Obituary section. Lloyd and I knew Rick and Sue from 1988-1991 when I also worked as a nurse for the VON in Fredericton. They lived close to us and we both had small children, so our lives overlapped in many ways. Sues kind manner, her laugh and her smile will always be fondly remembered.

Dear Annie, Josh, Martha & Ethan
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. We were childhood friends but always kept in touch over the years. I could always hear her voice when I read her Christmas Card. I am sure that you will miss her terribly. This poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye reminds of her:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.

I am so saddened to hear of your moms death. I remember your mom and dad taking Danya to many basketball games. They came to a Christmas Eve gathering at our place one year and I can see your mom now, perched on your dads lap laughing. She was always so kind and had such a beautiful smile. Even in her death she was a giving person as I understand she chose to be an organ donor. She was so proud of each one of you and you could hear it when she spoke of you. I know that this is very hard for all of you. Keep all those beautiful memories of your time with your mom tucked into your heart and know that she is never more than a thought away from any of you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
