My mother Kristen and I have long been friends of the Cormiers, since first moving to Fredericton for a brief time in 2002. I met Raymond and Pauline's wonderful son Paul (now Brother Paul) at Leo Hayes High School where I was briefly a student. In quickly developing a close friendship with Paul, the welcoming of the Cormier family had me soon bringing my mother Kristen and Grandmother Donna to visit regularly. Returning to Fredericton to attend St. Thomas University, my family was often along with me and we would regularly visit the Cormier home where Raymond and Pauline were always all-smiles and warmth and full of openness and hospitality. My mom and I will both miss Raymond's wonderful smiling face and imagination when he regaled us always with happy stories and shared his fond memories of growing up and becoming a man... full of genuine kindness and inspired by his deep Catholic faith. Receiving a Christmas letter from Paul last December he told me that his parents and father in particular were not doing well, but that they were people of deep and abiding faith and so not to worry about them but rather to pray deeply for them and know that God is with them. It is with real joy that my mother and I celebrate the life of Raymond and the happiness he brought to the world and the love and hospitality he always welcomed my family and I into his home with Pauline his dear wife.
In loving memory,
Cameron and Kristen MacLean

Hi Pauline and family...
The last time I visited Ray, his cousin and her husband were visiting from Ottawa. He seemed so much better than my first visit when you and Paul were there. It was so nice to see him more like his old self. It's been a long road, and I'm happy to know that he is at peace. I am in Halifax with my grandson this weekend, so I won't be able to make visitation or funeral. I will keep you all in my thoughts today, and drop by for a visit when I get back to Fredericton.
In sympathy...
Dale & Brenda Carle

Dear Pauline & Family:
My deepest condolences on Raymond's passing. Ray was always a loving, joyful, inspirational witness in our Secular Franciscan Order and will be missed by all. His smile, humour, and down to earth stories brightened everyone's day. I am sad I cannot be with you in person, but I will be remembering you all in prayer as you celebrate his Christian life, and throughout the coming days. God Bless.
