Ms. Waldron was my grade 9 math teacher at Harold Peterson Junior High. I was terrified of math and she helped me to get over that fear. I am a teacher today because of the great influence of Ms. Waldron and other great teachers like her.

I hope that in due time you receive God’s peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture is Psalm 34:18 which reads: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” Thus, while you await the Paradise where no one will be sick and die, may you lean on Jehovah God to cope with your separation from Alma. (Psalm 37:29)

Miss Waldron was my homeroom teacher in grade 9, as well as my Math teacher. I thought I was terrible in Math. And my marks reflected it. Alma took me aside after class one day and personally tutored me. The light came on and my marks went up to an A level. She obviously knew how to teach, and to see the potential in a student. Thank you Miss Waldron. You made a difference in my life.

My thoughts and sincere sympathy to all those who love and care for Ms. Waldron.
I am a former student who studied math at HPJHS in the early 80s with Ms. Waldron. She was encouraging and generous with her time and made me feel OK to be a girl who was good at math. I am thankful that she chose to teach, I benefited from her skill.
