My dear Tara, I was so shocked to read of Terry's passing and wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts in so many ways. Terry was such a fine person and warm, caring spirit. I am not sure if you knew that he was my downstairs neighbour for a number of years in the 80's on University Avenue. He gave me a hand with so many things and his warm smile always made me feel there was good in the world. Terry and I also had a mutual close friend in common; Bridie McIntyre-Kelly (the mom of his fellow rugby mate Mike a.k.a. Killer M-K). Bridie passed some years ago but she would retell to me what Terry was up to when I visited her and of the salmon he would so generously bring to her and Robert. She loved him like another son.
My sincerest condolences to you and Terry's family and may you find peace knowing you are not alone amid the very good friends you have who love you. Pat

Terry and I grew up in Moncton as competitors and then team mates on the ball diamond. We spent a lot of our spare time in Pointe du Chene usually doing things we were not suppose to do. Many nights we crashed at Rose's cottage before she had moved their permanately. Terry and I were roommates in Harrison House at UNB where I still have great memories although a little foggy on some details.
When I moved out west in the mid seventies Terry was the first to visit. Over the years we sporadically remained in touch but we always seemed to be able to pick up where we left off even if it had been 5 years since we last saw each other.
Terry was a life long friend and I will miss him.

I was thrown into a world of disbelief when I heard of Go-Go's passing. He was my hunting and fishing buddy. Here is a little story and I have many. Terry and I were both on Unemployment Insurance in 1978. We were traveling in Terry's vehicle. He was driving and I was reading the Gleaner looking for jobs we could apply for. At that time you had to apply for 3 to 4 jobs a month or risk losing your UIC. There was a job posted looking for Firefighters for the City of Fredericton. I asked Terry, "what do you think?" He said "it's worth a shot" We both applied and low and behold we were both hired. Terry got on in May of 1978 and I was hired in July of 1978. Terry's first fire was the Curling Club fire on Brunswick Street located just behind the old Cosmo Club. I was able to watch the fire from the driveway of the old York County Jail where I was a part-time Correctional Officer. It was a doozy. That was the first time I saw structural steel bend from heat. I couldn't see Terry but I knew he was there. It is the first day of deer season and Go-Go is not here.

Our sympathies to the family for your loss, Terry was a dedicated and sincere individual who I had the privilege of meeting during out time together at Fredericton Fire Department. We hope the family can be comforted with the knowledge that Terry was an outdoors man and died doing what he most liked to do outside working or fishing and relaxing. RIP Terry.

From the ice at the old Stadium in Moncton and the halls and fields of Moncton High to the halls, fields, dorm, escapades and more at UNB, from hunting the woods and fishing the rivers of New Brunswick, from the comfort of our homes and the peace of the camp, from two man football on the riverside, pickup football in the snow, tossing baseball, tubing the river, playing shinny, to burns, cuts, scrapes, smashed fingers, broken rods, soakers, ripped waders, flooded trucks, from hard laughs, stories true and tall to having a few or several cold ones, from from the expert ways in the simple life and the company of a good soul, to the easy ways of friendship, Terry gave me so much. Gone too soon, suddenly I realize its too long since we spoke. I don't know how I feel just to leave a text like this. I do know I have a pit in my stomach, I am lucky we met, I am happy he was my friend, and he left me good memories to hold.

Was a terrible shock to hear what happened, especially for my Mom, Shirley, who was his godmother. My Dad used to take Terry fishing when he was a boy. Guess that's when he first caught the fishing bug. I'll be praying for comfort for everyone who loves my cousin Terry. My Mom sends her condolences also.

To Terry Goguen "Gogo", To a man I knew before becoming a firefighter, of good nature, good humor and kind words for friends. Coming from the same town, "Moncton", and coming to the fire dept the same way, U.N.B. first then lucky to get a job at the FFD. To A somewhat private person at times, at home and at peace with nature, fishing and hunting and showing off his fly collection. Terry was a good firefighter, a more than capable officer and a good union member. I am sorry that there won't be a chance to show respect for a fallen brother. Rest in peace Terry.

I introduced Terry to fly fishing back in the 80s when we were both rookies on the fire department. He fell in love with the sport. As I raised two sons, he raised a thousand fish. I’ll miss him. I have a new fly that he gave me in July and if it works I’ll call it “the GooG”. Deepest respects.

Gogo was a great friend. Though I only knew him through the fire department when I was a coop student and only worked with him during that time period...(he retired before i got hired) He taugh me a lot about firefighting in short time. I enjoyed stopping by the station and just chat about the "job". He was also a great supporter of our softball team and was always intereste on how my team was doing. Though we lost touch after his retirement, he was still a great mentor and friend. You will be missed Gogo.

Shocked to read about my friend "GoGo". GoGO and I shared many hockey, baseball and football pools together over the years. He was a sport in the truest sense of the word. No question his passion was fishing and hunting. Because of his love for the wilderness and rivers we didn't see much of each other the past number of years but when we did cross paths it was like old times. He was a good friend and one you could always count on when needed. Set in his ways, never easy to persuade, unique, ok stubborn but also very kind, thoughtful, generous and a loved a good laugh. God bless you Bud!
