Obituary of Lynda Ann Doige
The passing of Lynda Ann Doige of Fredericton, New Brunswick, occurred on October 1st, 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 18th, 1943, in Moncton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Robin (Rowe) and the late Herbert Curwen.
To be in Lynda’s home, was to be welcomed home. She would often have a house full of guests and her mantra was, “the more, the merrier”. Relationships were central to Lynda and her outlook on life. Whether it be through her time teaching at UNB’s Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre, leading life-groups at Journey Wesleyan Church, or simply offering a meal at the family table, those who met Lynda knew how important relationships, and understanding each other, were. Lynda embodied the sentiment, “seek first to understand, then to be understood”.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Rick of Fredericton; children, Adam Doige (Dawn) of Edmonton, Matthew Doige (Rebecca) of China,Sandy Tucker (Greg) of Fredericton, and Luke Doige (Jessica) of Grande Prairie; granddaughters, Rachel, Abby, Zoe, and Ellie; grandsons Liam and George; along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Lynda was predeceased by her brother Cecil Curwen.
