Hiltz, Peter Allan

The passing of Peter Allan Hiltz of Fredericton, NB, husband of Patricia Ann (Wetter) Hiltz, occurred on September 29th, 2024 at his home. Born on November 10th, 1945 in Bridgewater, NS, he was the son of the late Erma E. (Dedrick) and Frank L. Hiltz.

Peter dedicated 31 years of his professional life as a Hydrometric Supervisor for Environment Canada. His meticulous nature and dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

After retiring, Peter found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He cherished attending their sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines, and celebrating their achievements. Peter also loved taking annual summer trips with them to Shediac, where he created lasting memories with his family.

Peter enjoyed his Saturday morning routine trips to the Boyce Farmers Market always greeting friends. He had a passion for Stock car racing, especially at Speedway 660, where he was well-known in the racing community as a trusted advisor, affectionately referred to as the "tire guy."

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Patricia; daughter, Tammy Stewart of Rothesay, NB; sister, Patricia Barrett of Barrie, ON; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob, and Josh; and great-grandchildren, Everly and Kane. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Erma and Frank Hiltz; daughter, Kimberley Ann Hiltz; and sister, Lynn Hiltz.
