I started Douglas School the same year as Nancy. We continued the years through till graduation as a group from Douglas When I returned to live on Carlisle Road I was glad to find that Nancy lived on James Street. An awesome neighbour and friend. Her home became a daily visit for my cat. Deepest sympathy to her Family

Nancy was a long time neighbour and co-worker with me . Her house was “the house “ to go to for special goodies at Halloween ! She was also the neighbour that would chat to anyone and a huge help at the Douglas Elementary School. As a co-worker I will remember her laugh and all the treats she baked for us!
I am so very sorry for your loss Vic and Jamie . My sympathies to you and the family.

Nancy was by far one of the kindest and most generous people I ever met. She befriended me as a new stay at home mom on James St, and her home became a haven for me and first one then two young sons. There was always coffee and a freshly baked treat each day I visited, and sometimes more. She was a person I could run to with problems or when I just needed a break from the house. She shared craft ideas, recipes and an awful lot of wisdom. She cared for all the beasts in the neighbourhood and fed everyone or thing that happened by. As my family continued to grow and her own son went off to school we didn't visit anymore, but she remained a neighbour that could always be counted on, and she kept a watch over the neighbourhood and let you know if anything was amiss on the street. I was really saddened to hear about Nancy leaving this mortal plane. It made me realize how huge a part she played in making those early years of motherhood bearable, and she taught me a huge deal about generosity, compassion and acceptance. My deepest condolences to Vic and Jamie.

I only met Nancy a few years ago, she recognized me and introduced herself to me. We had a wonderful chat as family and found many things in common, and left a little piece of ourselves in each other’s heart. After that she would grab ahold of me every time she saw me. I thought she was wonderful. I am so sorry for your loss.

Q: What was Nancy's favorite recipe?
A: I don’t know what her favourite recipe would be, but I always remember her baking and cooking. She poured her soul into food and making people feel loved in that way- the best way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, right? I’m sure she felt that way. The made the best lemon cake and I always remember her home-made Halloween treats for the lucky nieces that we were and the close neighbour children to savour.
She loved the fall and loved her hand made decorations and was such a crafty person. She loved sharing that with me, and I loved that time I had with her in my formative years. Whether it be on a weekend or after school, popping in to spend an hour or 2 with aunt Nancy was something I cherished.
You gave me a lot of your time and someone to talk to when I needed help with things that were invariably trivial, but important at that moment and took me seriously, and I will forever appreciate that time, love and care that you extended to me.
Thank you for the memories and the imprint you will always have on my heart. ❤️ Thank you xxx
Love from Ashley
