I just read about Mr Elliott's passing from UNB's Alumni News. I still have fond memories of high school biology, and those that took his class will forever remember the different one celled organisms (amoeba, paramecium, euglena) courtesy of his chalkboard diagrams. I still can remember the cell cycles to this day: IPMAT! Come to class for the 15 minute chat; stay for the 35 minutes of serious learning.

Mr. Elliott was a great teacher, neighbour and friend to many. His classes were as unique as they were interesting while being upbeat and inclusive. His presence in the community improved when he was with us and left a void once he retired. He will be missed. Rest in peace Mr. Elliott.

Dear Barb and Heather,
I’m sending much love as you mourn the loss of such a kind and helpful man. I still remember Carl securing the pet kennels in the car for my big move to Alberta. He always said I’d be back. And I can’t forget the drives he took with you, Barb, to check out homes for sale, to help me do so. I am grateful.
Rest in peace, Carl. You were one of the good ones.

My sincere condolences to Mrs. Elliott and the Elliott family. Carl (Mr. Elliott) was the best teacher at SVHS! His classes were never boring - he kept us interested in learning, either by dissecting worms & frogs, excitably telling us a fishing story, and he even taught us how to fill out our Income tax form (of which I have done my own taxes ever since!).
He was a sincere, kind person who was passionate to see us learn, in a fun way!
Rest in peace, Mr. Elliott.

Barb and Heather, It was an honor to have known Carl. He helped me a great deal early in my teaching career. We would travel back and forth to Fredericton on weekends. He was a true friend who was kind, helpful and cool.

Mr. Elliott was a wonderful Gr 10 Biology teacher. Biology was a course I was not sure I would enjoy, but I found it remarkably interesting. His point-form notes and labelled diagrams made it clear what was expected on the tests.
I remember a twinkle in his eye at the mention of a new Home-Economics Teacher.
My heart-felt sympathy to Mrs. Barbara Elliott; his daughter, Heather Elliott (Adam); and his Family.

So sorry for your loss! I have great memories of Mr. Elliott as he was my teacher for both Biology and Economics. He loved all of his students and got to know each and every one of us. He learned a lot about his students just by chatting with us all the first few minutes of every class. After 10 min or so, he would say, "OK, time to get to work " and the teaching began. He was by far my very favorite teacher and I remember him fondly! My condolences to all of the family...........Sharon (Boyer) Geldart
