Obituary of Esther Lilly Mitchell

With her family by her side, the passing of Esther Lilly Mitchell, a long-time resident of Beulah Camp, occurred on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hospice House in Fredericton. Born on April 3, 1932 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Morley and Grace (Harris) Mitchell. Esther worked in accounting and bookkeeping for the Province of New Brunswick. After her retirement, Esther enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She always loved welcoming family and friends to her home. She was a member of the Beulah Camp community for over 70 years. We will miss our special “Auntie”.
Esther is survived by her sister, Julia Estey of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Grace White, Carol Heighton and Miriam Mitchell; brothers, Douglas, Paul and Gordon Mitchell.
A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1 pm with Pastor Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place in Olivet Cemetery, Fredericton, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
