Obituary of Barbara Joyce Knox Stairs

KNOX STAIRS, BARBARA JOYCE

The passing of Barbara Joyce Knox Stairs of Douglas, NB, wife of Gary Stairs, occurred on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 30, 1954 in Harvey Station, NB, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Nancy (Beers) Knox.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children, Kelly Stairs (Kevin), Chris Stairs (Lynn) and Heather Roberts; grandchildren, Daniel Stairs (Emma) and Charly Roberts; great grandchildren, Kylee and Nora Stairs; siblings, Jack Knox (Kristie), Jim Knox (Nancy), Kathryn Gaudet (Greg) and Danny Knox (Kelly); and nieces and nephews, Alyssa Gaudet, Aaron Knox and Hannah Knox, Alexander Knox and Dylan Knox.

Barb enjoyed doing crafts, painting, gardening, hiking and exploring nature and a good Wendy’s burger. Barb was very generous in supporting several Christian charities.

Honorary pallbearers are: Kelly Stairs, Chris Stairs, Heather Roberts, Charly Roberts, Jim and Nancy Knox.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place from Douglas Baptist Church, 1012 Route 105, Douglas, NB on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11 am with Rev. Peter Moore officiating.
