Obituary of Charles Lewis Wallace

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Lewis Wallace announce his passing on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on December 21, 1942,  he was the only son of the late Lewis and Marion (Foster) Wallace.  Charles was a member of Nashwaaksis Baptist Church. 

He spent most of his working life in the woods.  In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Dad was always up for a drive through the woods or going to Tim’s for a coffee.  He enjoyed bowling, playing cards with family and friends and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching every game on TV with mom.         

Charles is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine (Dow) Wallace; sons, Jeff (Nanci) and Steven (Gina).  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brandon, Noah and Tye. Charles enjoyed every moment spent with his grandchildren; his face would always light up when they were around.  Also left to mourn are sisters, Artice Jenkins (David), Marjorie Dow and Carol Bennett (Russ); and several nieces and nephews.

 
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Doherty (Ned) and Jean Morton (Maurice); and brothers in law, John Darling Sr., Ted Doherty and Earl Dow; and his special dog, Tasha. 

A Graveside Service will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating.  Pallbearers for the service will be Brandon Wallace, Noah Wallace, Troy Dow, John Darling, Tim Doherty and David Doherty.  Honorary Pallbearers will be David Jenkins, Russ Bennett, Dale Dow, Robin Anderson, Charlie Anderson and Murray McConnell.  For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
