Steven Wallace posted a condolence

Our family would like to thank everyone for coming to support us during this difficult time. Many people have offered prayers, dropped by for visits and sent messages. All of these acts of kindness are much appreciated by our family. The days ahead will be difficult but with the support of others we will make it through.
There are many ways to characterize Dad, he was quiet by nature, kind and loving. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and brother. He would do anything he could to help out and always considered the needs of others before his own. He had a dry sense of humour, oftentimes just a smirk would come over his face after making a comment. He was a man of few words generally, wouldn't always answer when asked a question, he just gave a nod. If you were not looking right at him, you would definitely miss it. His sons and grandsons may have adapted this as well, it's known as the Wallace Nod! He worked hard in the woods for many years. Both Jeff and I had the privilege to work alongside our father following high school. He had a work ethic like no other. His word was as good as gold! If he said he would do something, he did it. He always enjoyed going for coffee, Tim's I might add!!, going for drives, loved bowling and playing cards with family and friends.
There are a couple of stories we would like to share that have been told many times over the years.
1) When we first got our dirt bikes back in the day. Dad was to give us driving tips before we ever got to drive them. This particular time the instruction class was held at grams house. If I remember correctly, it had rained some that day. Well Dad got on, fired it up and may have used a bit more throttle then needed. He was chasing the bike around in circles trying to hang on!! It was something to see! The other time was in Crow Hill, we unloaded the bikes that day and Dad jumped on. Hit the throttle, popped her in gear and over backwards he went, breaking the fender off. At this point we were certified to drive.
2) The other story involved Steve while working in the woods with his father. Dad at this time had a mustache and someone had commented to him about how much he looked like his son, Steve. He must have taken offense to this, because before sundown he was clean shaven again!!
We could not have asked for a better role model in our lives.
I'm sure everyone here has stories to share about dad and we encourage each one to share these with each other moving forward.
Above all his faith in God was most important in his life. Reading his bible, praying and attending church when he was able was very important to him.
We know where is his now based on his faith in God, reunited with his parents and other family members, no more pain or suffering. We are truly grateful for this. We will see you again Dad, until then we love you and will miss you very much.
Love your family!
