So very sorry to Georgina's family. As you all know she was so kind and just a wonderful human being. I got to know her because I tuned and maintained her piano several times. I always liked sitting and talking to Georgina.

Georgina gave our family one of the best gifts one can give, the gift of music. Our two youngest daughters (Anya and Julia) took piano lessons for many years with Georgina. She was always so kind, patient, and very forgiving when practicing at home hadn't been done enough. We will never forget her generosity, her delicious squares, her love of life, her kind interest in others, her phone calls, and her delicious tea whenever we stopped by for a visit. We are so saddened by her passing. Our deepest condolences to her beloved family.

I came to know Georgina through her best friend and my mentor, Barbara Marks. So many words come to mind when I think of Goergina. Busy, kind, generous, talented, giving, active, bright, appreciative, witty, hard working, wise, perceptive, loyal; the list goes on. To a one of a kind lady who will be sadly missed by so many. May those who loved Georgina find peace in knowing she lived a full life doing the things she loved most: being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, music teacher, musician, friend and incredible cook.

Lynn, Peter, Mike, Carl - and ALL Members of Georgina's Family -
Sorry this message is so late - this is my 3rd attempt to find words to express my thoughts/feelings - Georgina was there for everybody sharing her many talents, be it relating to music,/baking/crafting (knitting). We have always been in the same circles in life , starting with our childhood days as proud members of our beloved St. Anne's Chapel/being choir members in both Junior and Senior Choirs/members of York Singers under the direction of our special friend Hilda Shorten (with our Accompanist Georgina), starting married life and raising our children in the same time frame - we have just been "forever friends". She was always there for all of us - and now it is our turn to be there for YOU, her loved ones. -her passing creates a deep void in not only my life but also her many, many friends in the "Music Teachers World" and in the music community at large.
Countless memories of times we shared - along with her treasured handwritten recipes - will always remind me of our lifetime bonds - Georgina certainly made our world a better place!!I
--Sending my love to all of you, Your Friend, Shirley Munn

I met Georgina when I moved to Fredericton in 1977 and joined the Fredericton Music Teachers’ Association. I know that her students loved her deeply; she was a great teacher. When my mother was dying in Winnipeg in 2001, and I was unable to accompany my clarinet students for their music exams, Georgina helped me out, and played for all of them. She often contributed her wonderful pan rolls to musical get-togethers and fundraisers. She was a generous, warm person, whose smile made others smile as well.

Aunt Georgina had such a positive influence on my life. She was not only an amazing Aunt, but an amazing piano teacher as well.
She was patient but firm in a way that made learning enjoyable, even as a student who maybe didn’t want to learn at the time. In hindsight, I owe her a debt of gratitude for guiding me through those lessons.
The fondest memories are of family get togethers, random visits, stopping by to warm up after the Santa Claus parade and our traditional stop there on Christmas Eve. Each visit was met with a delicious array of baked goods and, if you got there before they were gone, the best rolls on the planet. We always were made to feel at home and included in the discussion, even as kids. She seemed to have endless energy and always a positive outlook.
Every year, no matter where I’d moved to, which happened a lot for a few years, I found a birthday card in the mail.
I’ve seen her caring nature passed down in my cousins Lynn, Peter and Mike who have all helped me along the way of life at many points. Many condolences to them. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

I’m sorry for your loss. Georgina was a vibrant hostess whenever my little ones and I needed the “privy” during Monika, Nathan and Cynthia’s piano/guitar lessons with Peter. My music studying children appreciated Georgina’s quick wit and treat offers. I believe I heard about her interrupting a lesson or two (maybe even taking the bench) to offer encouragement and support. We love you Georgina! Thank you for your inspiring example of a life fully lived. With love from Erika Rennick

Georgina, had an outsized influence in my life. Her calm, practical approach to teaching piano gave me the confidence and tools to get up and perform in front of people…even when I wasn’t at my best. She understood that her students were engaged in myriad activities in life and steadily guided us through our musical journey, ensuring that we enjoyed ourselves when sitting on the piano bench. She was certainly an unsung leader. Not to mention her constant warmth when when we would stop by for a visit long after we finished lessons with her. Truly a lovely human being. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

I remember Georgie playing piano for our choir, the York singers back in the 1960’s. She has been a wonderful friend and in the past few years I’ve had the pleasure to sing with her in the Cecilian singers until she was hospitalized. May her memory be a blessing to her family and her many friends.

Mike, Peter, Lynn and family, I am so very sorry to hear of your moms passing. I loved her so very much. I don’t think there was a kid on Argyle Street who wasn’t blessed in some way by your mom. What I will always remember about your mom is her amazing cooking, especially the sweet treats, and her laughter. Her recipe posts and Facebook selfies made me smile so many times over the past year. Cherish all of the wonderful memories you have of your mom and rest peacefully knowing the world is a better place because of her. Sending love and hugs to you all ❤️
