Deepest sympathy to the Griffin family. I only met Faye on a couple of occasions and we shared a special love of geneaology. She included an excerpt of my Bruce family research in her book Humble Beginnings, detailing her father Paul's life. The Miramichi and Nashwaak branches of the Bruce family are all descendents of the origional David Bruce. He was one of over 100 Scottish soldiers of the 42n Highland Regiment of the Black Watch who took land grants on the Nashwaak in 1783 after fighting for Britain in the US Revolutionary War. Thinking of the family during this very difficult time.

I am so sorry to read of Faye’s death. She and my
Mum, Ann Johnston worked together many years at York Manor and became very good friends .
Faye was the RN who allowed me to come to York Manor and shadow her the evening before my first clinical experience in my UNB nursing program (just to help dispel the nervousness I was feeling)
She was truly such a caring , special person

When Wanda and I came out East in 1983
everyone was so kind and welcoming.
The Griffins took us in like a couple of strays and took care of us. We slept in the basement, ate their food and never really gave much thought to what a pain we must have been because we felt so welcome and wanted.
When we moved into our basement suite somehow all kinds of bedding, dishes and other necessities appeared… I don’t remember what happened to the lovely blue plates when we moved back out…
Before we came back home we went travelling for a look around. When we came back we were locked out of our basement suite even though the rent was paid and there was a couple of days left in the month so…
back we went to 36 Caroll Avenue in the middle of the night to be welcomed like it was no big deal
The whole family was wonderful to us and Faye treated us like we were her children …except we had no house work…sorry Jill…
Faye had such great energy and spirit. She was excited to go travelling while her and Bill were still young enough to enjoy it and showed us all her preparations. She always bought the greenest bananas she could find which I thought was so funny.
She had a great sense of humour and ability to laugh at herself. She had a lasting impression on me. Her loss is profound

Dear Bill and family,
