Grace was my dearest sister -in- law. She loved her family dearly, the most important thing to her. She was so loved and we always had such a fun time when she was around. She loved telling jokes and even though she told us the same ones over and over many times we still laughed as she would be laughing so hard it made us laugh. Grace was special and now she is in her Heavenly home , I am sure God is smiling at her jokes. Grace you were so loved by all , until we meet again I will miss you.

My grandmother Benson was perhaps the most positive person I have ever met. Her love and kindness to me and my brothers, her grandchildren, and the joy she brought to our lives was constant and profound. She was the exuberant half of my grandparents, to say the least, and was a perfect pairing with my wise and stoic grandfather, as evidenced by well over a half a century of life and marriage together.
My admiration for her has only grown as I have grown older, realizing with each passing year how rare are such kind and gentle spirited people like my grandmother Grace. She is unchanging in my memory, as her affection and love for me were unchanging. Whether on visits as a little boy at Christmas, or later as a young man coming from a military exercise at CFB Gagetown, or even later on visits home from the other side of the continent, she greeted me with the same joy, beaming smiley and open arms; as though it were a Christmas visit every day that we were together.
On the rare occasion that I brought a friend, they would be bowled over by her generosity and curiosity; though, somewhat amused by her overly optimistic opinion of grandson's capabilities. Such embarrassment on my part was the ignorance of the young, and as I think back on her famous wall with my pictures hanging next to those of my brothers and parents, I hope that the joy and pride she had in us went some way towards repaying her for all the love and care we received. While I treasure the time I had with my grandmother, times and experiences that cannot be taken away, I am equally thankful to her for my father. Her kindness and curiosity have shone through him from my earliest memories. His positivity and supportiveness a clear reflection of her, and blessing to me and my entire family.
As grandchildren we were well loved, but like all children, we are robbed of the pleasure of knowing our grandparents as they were to others over so much of their lives. I have no doubt that my experiences will be familiar to other friends and family now mourning, as her consistency in my own life was remarkable, and so I extend my own condolences to those of you who loved her and knew her in ways apart from my own. She was a blessing in my life that will not be replaced, but one that I will forever carry with me as I am sure many of you will too.
Rest in Peace Grammy,
T

Grace was a very good friend to my Grandmother, Helen Wilcox. Her and Pastor Benson often would pick her up from the York senior apartments and bring her to church.
Grace was always full of love and joy which radiated from her all the time. No, it was not just the bright hair, it was truly the love of Christ in her.

I LOVED GRACE DEARLY AND WILL FOREVER. SHE AND I HAD SOME FANTASTIC TIMES TOGETHER. LOTS OF CRAZY ONES AND SERIOUS ONES MORE CRAZY THEN SERIOUS. THE ONE THAT STAYS WITH ME THE MOST IS SHE AND I WAS SITTING ON MY FRONT DOORSTEP ON A BEAUTIFUL EVENING JUST TALKING AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT WHEN MY HUSBAND(TEDDY) FROM THE BEDROOM ABOVE MADE A HORRIBLE CREEPY NOISE WITH HIS VOICE THAT SCARED GRACE AND SHE JUMPED UP SCREAMING AND RAN IN THE HOUSE UP THE STAIRS TO THE BATHROOM WHERE ROOSEVELT WAS BATHING AND SHE YELLED TO HIM (TED DID YOU HEAR WHAT TEDDY JUST DID TO US) AND HE REPLIED DISGUSTEDLY-NO I DIDNT, BUT I SURE HEARD YOU. DID WE EVER LAUGH AND LAUGH SO DID TEDDY. GOD LOVE HER I SURE WILL MISS HER AND LOVE HER FOREVER.

Mr. Benson, Fenton, Melvin & Family: What wonderful memories we have of the many years Grace was a faithful member of Corbett Church. She loved Sunday Worship, Small Groups and Best Years Fellowship. Everyone felt their day was brightened by a one-on-one chat with Gracie. She dearly loved her earthly family and friends and was passionate about scripture, prayer, gospel music and style! How special to know her beloved “Teddy” was at her side singing as she transitioned to her forever home!
