Obituary of Jean Isabel Cole

The passing of Jean Isabel Cole of Fredericton, NB occurred on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Windsor Court Retirement Residence.  Born on November 4, 1931 in New Glasgow, NS.  Jean married Ken Cole, the love of her life, and enjoyed many summers together at Lake George, bringing up five daughters. Jean and Ken spent many evenings and weekends, square and round dancing and later on, teaching both.  When they retired, they spent winters in Florida, where they continued to dance and teach dancing.  Jean took art classes, turning out many lovely pieces.  After losing Ken to Alzheimer’s, she moved to Windsor Court, where she became involved in many of their activities and met new friends, who define her as someone with a great sense of humour, kindness and fairness to all.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Lorna Jeffrey (Brian) of London, ON, Dawn Corbett (Laurie) of Wuhr’s Beach, NB, Kathleen Birch (Jim) of Fredericton, NB and Valerie Seys (Rick) of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren, Heather Murray, Kendra Wojcik, Patrick and Jared Lahaie, Christina Schneider, Erin Hache and Alex Staples; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Ann Cole (Bernard) and brothers, Robert and Arthur; sister, Muriel.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T.
