Obituary of Sawyer George Ryan

 

RYAN, SAWYER GEORGE

December 6, 2021 – August 26, 2022

 

 It is with great sadness that the family of Sawyer George Ryan shares his sudden passing at the DECH on August 26, 2022. Born on December 6, 2021, he was very much loved by his parents, Alex and Margaret Ryan and big brother, Wyatt, who adoringly called him Cootie-Tootie.

 

He is survived by his paternal grandparents, George and Nancy Ryan; uncles, David Ryan (Lexi Nelson) and Jeffery (Melissa) Ryan; cousins, Beau and Lucy; great grandparents, Fred Ryan and Mary Ashworth; maternal grandmother, Connie McNeil, aunts, Jennifer Betts and Kari (Dwight) Stairs and uncle, Stewart McNeil (Sarah Rennick); cousins, Emma, Brooke, Olivia and Rowan; great grandmother, Faye Stewart.  He was predeceased by his grandfather, Fred McNeil, great grandparents, Martha Ryan, Basil Stewart, Cecil Ashworth, Floyd Sparks, Margaret and John McNeil.

 

From birth, Sawyer was a fighter. Days after he was born, he was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis & Coarctation of the aorta and was flown to the IWK. After two surgeries, Sawyer was functioning well and was a healthy and happy boy. He was bright eyed, full of smiles and brought so much joy to everyone around him. Although he was only with us for a short period of time, he will forever hold a place in all our hearts.

 

Funeral service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2 pm with Ben Canney officiating. Visitation will be held before the service at 1 pm. Burial to follow the service at the Taymouth Cemetery.
