Obituary of Wendell LeRoy Hunter

The passing of Wendell LeRoy Hunter of Astle, NB occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was born on May 3, 1943 to the late Vyetta (Munn) and Glendon Hunter.

 

Wendell is survived by his wife, Ellen Hunter (Hovey); two daughters, Lori (Melvin) Hunter, Kerry (Ronnie Rodgers) Hunter; three sons, LeRoy (Joanne) Hunter, Terry (Tara) Hunter, Joe (Sara) Hunter; one chosen daughter, granddaughter Keesha Hunter; grandchildren, Dustin McFawn, Brittany Sharpe, Jodi Champaine, Lindsay Passerino, Amanda Fowler, Kayla Hunter, Ryan Hunter, Taryn Fairley, Spencer and Reice Munn; several great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene Hay (Murray); sister-in-law, Valerie Hunter; and many great friends, especially his Irving pals.

 

Besides his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his sister, Marie Dorcas; brothers, Byron and Lister Hunter.

 

Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 12-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor David Williston officiating. Interment will be in Astle Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the Duffie Wing at Oromocto Public Hospital for their care and compassion.
