Obituary of Hazel Irene Currie
CURRIE, HAZEL IRENE
The passing of Hazel Irene Currie of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Leo Wesley Currie occurred on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on April 21, 1925 in Blissfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Robinson) Maroney. Hazel was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church; CWL and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Hazel is survived by daughters, Annette Olsen (Jim) and Sherry Moran (Wayne); sons, Hugh Currie (Monica) and Chris Currie (Kim); seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Hills of Winnipeg, MN and Margaret Baker of Edmonton, AB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Alexis; sister, Mary Christensen; brothers, Frank Maroney and David Maroney.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4-7 pm. The Memorial Mass will take place at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 1 William Street, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 am with Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan as celebrant. The family requests, that due to the current health situation that all attending services please wear masks. Interment will take place in St Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.), New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
