The passing of Franklin "Frank" Horace Manzer of Fredericton, NB occurred on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Hospice House, Fredericton, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.   Born on August 15, 1946 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Myles and Mildred (Dunphy) Manzer. He worked at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for 33 years in the Dietary Department, in the kitchen.   Frank loved to travel with Bonnie, following the Montreal Canadiens (and local hockey) and was a member of the Fredericton Canadiens Booster Club; he also enjoyed attending family and community functions (line dancing and square dancing) that included good food.    

 

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Bonnie (Boone) Manzer, Frank is survived by his sisters, Ruth Lewis (Bert), Joanne Janik and Sharon Fraser; mother in law, Maxine (Currie) Boone; brother in law, Tim Boone (Laurie); many nieces and nephews especially, Lori McFarlane, Susan Royal (Michael), Leslie Boone-Morrell (Jeffrey) and Jody Boone (Laura). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers in law, Robert Janik and James Fraser, and his father in law, Samuel Boone.

 

The family of Frank would like to thank the Extra-Mural nurses, especially, Krista, Dr. K. Hadley and the staff of Fredericton Hospice.   

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 1 pm with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. The service will be available on line.   A reception will follow in the Fireside Room.  The family have requested, due to the current health situation, it would be appreciated if masks be worn for all services.  Interment will take place in Penniac Baptist Cemetery.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Fredericton Hospice (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.) or the Canadian Cancer Society.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
