The passing of Allan Sherwood of
Al was a well known local musician. He worked at Herbie’s Music Store and later opened his own “Al’s Music Store”. He shared the stage with legendary country music stars Hank Snow, Wilf Carter, Stompin’ Tom Connors, Doc Williams and Anne Murray. Al is a member of the NB Country Music Hall of Fame and the NB Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He was the last surviving member of The Diamond Trio.
Allan is survived by his daughters, Debbie Williams, Rhonda Wooldridge (Darrel) and Alanna Sherwood (Rick); sons, Les Sherwood (Marion) and Christopher Sherwood (Moira); brother, Frank Sherwood (Lynda); half-brothers Reid and Allen Sherwood; grandchildren, Darren, Jason, Shannon, Shawn, Scotty, Joey, Michelle, Erin, Chelsea, Patrick, Andrew, Matthew and Ashley; 15 great grandchildren; special friend, Eileen Hansen; first wife, Hazel Chase (Basil); several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his wife and parents, Allan was predeceased by his partner, Rayma Blake; sisters, Dorothy Raynes and Lily Moors; son-in-law, Norm Williams.
Al's family would like to thank the staff at Eden's Retirement Villa and Neill Hall-Shannex for the care Dad and his family received, especially in his final days.
