Obituary of Charlie Wilson

The peaceful passing of Charles Hayward Wilson of Nashwaak Village, NB, husband of the late Ruth (Banks) Wilson occurred on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Hospice House in Fredericton, NB. Born on May 18, 1931 in North Tay, NB, he was the son of the late Harry Egan and Daisy Pearl (Wilkins) Wilson. Charlie loved nothing more than to work with his hands on special projects and to spend time with his family. His many pass times were woodworking, gardening and more importantly, doting on his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Debby McCoy (Richard); sons, Don Wilson (Patti) and Kenny Wilson all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Shalawny, Rick (Cindy), Allison, Jamie and Katie (Aaron); great grandchildren, Amanda, Katelynn (Theo), Melissa (Harvey), Bradley (Emily) and Kip; ten great great grandchildren; his brothers, Ronald Wilson (Pat) and Lewis Wilson (Joan); many nieces and nephews; each one having a special place in his heart. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Floris, Edith, Shirley, and brothers, Vance, Leslie, and Rodney.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 1-2 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Dwight McCoy officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery immediately after the service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hospice House (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
