Obituary of Sheena Jean DiValentin

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Sheena Jean DiValentin, beloved wife, mother, sister, mentor, and friend announces her passing on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the age of 61. Sheena passed peacefully at the Hospice Fredericton after a brief illness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael DiValentin; their children, Lynda Nicoll (Jeff), Chelsea DiValentin (Chris West) and Thomas DiValentin (Miranda) of Alberta; grandchildren, Kaylee West, Emily Nicoll and Gillian Nicoll; her siblings, Philippa Gourley, Susan Facey, Scott Glenn (Tina), Peter Glenn (Sue Hilton), and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Rioux.

She was predeceased by her father, Vernon Glenn of Chipman and her mother, Janet Glenn (Thomson) of Glasgow, Scotland.

Sheena was born in Fredericton and in her younger years she developed a love for all animals, from puppies and show dogs to horses and equestrian riding and even cats! She married the love of her life Michael on June 7, 1980.

In 2021 Sheena retired from a 40 plus year career as a civil servant starting with NB Housing and ending with the current Department of Social Development. During her exemplary service Sheena was respected for her expertise in her job and loved by many for her friendship and willingness to help anyone who needed it.

A funeral service is scheduled to take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kelly Burke officiating; followed by a reception. All family and friends are welcome.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at the Fredericton Chalmers Hospital and extend a special thank you to everyone at Hospice Fredericton for their care, kindness and compassion.
