Obituary of Sadie Irene MacLean

The passing of Sadie Irene MacLean of Taymouth, NB, wife of the late Clarence “Ross” MacLean occurred on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at home.  Born on July 9, 1934 in Averys Portage, NB, she was the daughter of the late Berton and Tressa (Hunter) Woodcock. 

Sadie is survived by her children, Reta MacLean  of Fredericton, NB, Berton MacLean (Pam) of Durham Bridge, NB and Kenneth MacLean (Teresa) of Fort Langley, BC; son in law, Pat McAloon of Nashwaak Bridge;  nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Somerville (Late Glen) of Taymouth, NB, Charlotte Somerville (Bill) of Lower Durham, NB; brother, Harlan Woodcock (Late Joyce) of Astle, NB; brother-in law, Brian Gilmore, sister-in-law, Frances Porter (Late Douglas);  many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Sadie was predeceased by her daughter, Janice McAloon; son, Brent; siblings, Margaret (Franklin) Green, Theresa Gilmore, Phyllis Turnbull, Horace Woodcock (Late Helen), Arthur Woodcock (Jean), Lloyd (Rose) Woodcock, Irvine Woodcock, Jerry (Gertie) Woodcock and John (Sharon) Woodcock.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2-4 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 4 pm with, Pastor John Woodcock, officiating. Masks are required for all services. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery.  Many thanks from the family to Sadie’s homecare givers, Janet Merritt, Heather Landry and Kelly Fairley and to the Extra Mural staff that went above and beyond to offer exceptional care; it is much appreciated.
