Obituary of Helen Mary Speight

The passing of Helen Mary Speight of Maugerville, NB, wife of the late John Speight, occurred on May 9, 2022 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on July 25, 1940 in Weymouth, NS,  she was the daughter of the late Melvina Nickerson. Loved camping at Green Acres and her camping family. Enjoyed playing 45s and Bingo, and dancing. Helen and Johnny loved going to the Geary Race Track.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Sandra Fletcher (Gary) and Heather Speight; grandchildren, Amy (Eric), Jessica (Tim), Courtney (Taylor) and Katie (Sean); great grandchildren, Ella, Eli and Nolan; sister, Joyce (Roger); Gary's children, Laura and Diana and their families; daughter-in-law, Andrea Boyd; fur baby, Molly; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and mother, Helen was predeceased by her son, Brian Speight; sister, Donna Delegarde (Robert) and brother, Nelson Nickerson.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM.  The funeral will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.  Interment will take place in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery.
